Sakti Burman

Sakti Burman, a contemporary painter, lithographer, and sculptor, weaves romanticism and fantasy into his creations. His art blends Europe and India seamlessly, birthing exotic birds, sensuous women, and mythical landscapes. His canvases resemble aged frescoes, marked by a distinctive marbling effect. As a skilled lithographer, his prints display an impressive array of tonal variations. Born in Kolkata (1935), Burman studied at the Government College of Arts and Crafts before refining his craft at École Nationale des Beaux Arts, Paris. His prolific career includes globally acclaimed exhibitions like Galerie des Beaux-Arts, Paris, and Piccadilly Gallery, London. Based in France for five decades, he maintains strong ties to India, crafting his masterpieces in Paris and Delhi.
