R. M. Palaniappan

Hailing from Devakottai in Tamil Nadu, RM. Palaniappan consistently integrates scientific elements into his artistic expression, often infusing his work with the syntax of the sciences—incorporating diagrammatic notations and symbols. Having attained a diploma in fine arts from the Government College of Art and Craft in Madras in 1980, Palaniappan further expanded his expertise by pursuing a post-diploma in industrial design with a specialization in ceramics the subsequent year.While his primary focus lies in printmaking, Palaniappan’s creative journey has also ventured into the realms of drawings and acrylic paintings. Beyond these traditional mediums, he is recognized as a versatile artist who has explored photography, digital imagery, and computer-generated art. His artistic canvas often reverberates with memories of his initial aerial perspective of the Earth during a flight, giving rise to recurring motifs like maps, grids, and aerial terrains.
