Gogi Saroj Pal
Born in the year 1945, within the confines of the quaint town of Neoli in Uttar Pradesh, Gogi stands as a prominent figure among Indian artists. Her academic journey led her through the corridors of education at the College of Art in Vanasthali, Rajasthan, and later at the College of Art in Lucknow. Her pursuit of artistic knowledge culminated in the attainment of a postgraduate diploma in painting from the esteemed College of Art in New Delhi. Gogi’s creative expression spans across a multitude of mediums, encompassing gouache, oil, ceramic, graphic print, jewelry, photography, and weaving. Central to her artistic narrative are depictions of women, constituting the primary subjects of her work. Within her paintings, a surreal quality often intertwines with a commentary on the female experience, creating a captivating blend of the fantastical and the introspective.
