Gaganendranath Tagore
Gaganendranath Tagore (1867-1938), an artist, art enthusiast, and actor, hailed from the illustrious Tagore family of Jorasanko, Kolkata. Born on September 18, 1867, into a family renowned for their wealth and patronage of arts and culture, Gaganendranath was a pioneer in using brush and ink for modern painting. Beyond his role as a painter, he exhibited originality in designing furniture within the national tradition and the interior decoration of homes. His landscape illustrations often drew from tales of travelers, while others were products of his vivid imagination.
