A. Krishna Reddy
Krishna Reddy was an innovative artist who continuously explored new forms, techniques, and applications. He initially trained under Ramkinkar Baij in Tagore’s Shantiniketan and later studied sculpture with Henry Moore at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. Spending more than twenty years in Paris, he worked at studios led by Ossip Zadkine and co-directed Stanley William Hayter’s Atelier 17. This studio was a vibrant center in the 1960s, attracting renowned artists like Joan Miro, Constantin Brancusi, Pablo Picasso, and Alberto Giacometti, all of whom Reddy collaborated closely with. At Atelier 17, he pioneered simultaneous multicolour viscosity printing, revolutionising intaglio printmaking and pushing artistic boundaries beyond traditional methods. His approach wasn’t limited to the technical aspects; it fundamentally transformed artistic thinking and the development of new forms.
